Study of Cost-Effectiveness (SPE) in the Treatment of Migraine: A Cost-Effectiveness Study in the United States (US):
Background:The cost-effectiveness of prescription drugs varies from one pharmacy to another. For example, the retail price for celecoxib (Celebrex) is $19.50 per 30-day supply in the US, while the wholesale price of the same drug is $2.60 per 30-day supply. It is important to know the average retail price of each drug as well as the wholesale price of each drug for each drug.
Objective:To compare the cost effectiveness of different pain relief products over a 12-week period, and to assess the relative effectiveness of the drugs in the treatment of pain in adults and in children. Methods: A cost-effectiveness analysis was performed in the United States in 2012. The efficacy of the drugs was assessed using the Markov model.
Results:The results of the cost effectiveness analysis show that the cost effectiveness of celecoxib and coenzyme Q10 (CQ) inhibitors was higher than in the control group. The cost effectiveness of Celebrex (Celexa), the co-compound (Celebrex, Pfizer) was higher than in the control group.
Conclusion:The cost effectiveness of the pain relief products in the treatment of adults and children is higher than in the control group.
